Terms of service

1. Who we are

sandycats.com is run by Offkamber, Inc., doing business as Sandy Cats ("Sandy Cats," "we," "us"), 2009 Porterfield Way, Suite M, Upland, CA 91786.

These terms apply when you use our site or buy from us. By placing an order, you agree to them, along with our Shipping, Returns, Warranty and Service Life and Privacy pages, which are part of these terms. You need to be an adult where you live to buy from us.

Effective date: September 29, 2026.

2. Orders, prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars unless checkout shows another currency. Sales tax, shipping, and for international orders any duties are shown at checkout or charged on delivery (see Shipping).

Mistakes happen. If a price, description or photo on our site is wrong, we can correct it, and we can cancel an order placed at the wrong price. If we've already charged you, we refund you in full.

We can decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, the order looks fraudulent, or the shipping address is somewhere we can't legally ship. If we cancel, you get a full refund.

Payment is handled by Shopify and its payment processors at checkout. You confirm you're allowed to use the payment method you give.

Canceling your order: email sales@sandycats.com before it ships and we'll cancel it and refund it in full.

3. Shipping, returns and warranty

These have their own pages, and those pages are part of these terms:

  • Shipping: where we ship, costs, lost packages.
  • Returns: 30 days from delivery, unused and in original packaging.
  • Warranty and Service Life: every Sandy Cats product carries a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, under proper use and within published service life. That page explains the service life of each product and how to make a claim.

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover normal wear, damage from misuse or overloading, gear used past its published service life, or gear that's been modified.

If you buy from an international address, you're the importer: import duties, taxes and following your country's import rules are your responsibility.

4. Using recovery gear safely

Vehicle recovery is dangerous. A kinetic rope stores a lot of energy, and if a rope, shackle, recovery point or anything else in the system fails, parts can fly with enough force to kill or seriously injure someone and damage vehicles and property.

When you use our gear, you agree to:

  • pick the right size for your vehicle's weight, using our sizing chart and product specs
  • inspect every piece before each use, and retire anything that's cut, burned, glazed, badly worn or past its published service life
  • connect only to rated recovery points, never to tow balls, suspension parts or anything not built for recovery loads
  • keep everyone who isn't driving well clear of the line of pull
  • follow the instructions that come with the gear, and get training if you're new to recovery

You take on the risks of recovery. To the extent the law allows, you accept the risks of injury, death and property damage that come with vehicle recovery, including the risk that gear fails when it's used wrong, overloaded, damaged or past its service life. Nothing here limits our responsibility for a manufacturing defect covered by our warranty, or anything the law doesn't let us exclude.

5. Warranty limits and our liability

Our warranty is the lifetime warranty on our Warranty and Service Life page. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we don't make other promises about our products, and any implied warranties (like merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) are limited to what the law requires. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

The website is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.

Limit of liability. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income, a missed trip, or towing costs, and our total liability for any claim about a product is limited to what you paid for that product. This doesn't limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

6. Reviews, photos and our content

What you send us. When you post a review, or send us photos, video or a recovery story, you confirm it's yours and true to your experience, and you give us permission to use it, with your first name, on our site, in emails and on social media, without payment. We may edit it for length or remove it. Ask us to take something down and we will.

Our content. The text, photos, video, logos and designs on this site belong to Sandy Cats or the people who licensed them to us. Sandy Cats, Kinetic-X and Hitch Hero are our names. Don't copy our content or use our names to sell other products without written permission.

Using the site. Don't use it for anything illegal, try to break or overload it, scrape it, or pretend to be someone else. Links to other sites are there for convenience; we're not responsible for their content.

7. If we disagree

Talk to us first. Email sales@sandycats.com with your order number and what went wrong. Most problems get sorted out that way. Before either of us goes to court, we both agree to give it 30 days from that email to work it out.

California law. These terms and any dispute about them or our products are governed by California law.

Where. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Bernardino County, California. Either of us can always use small claims court instead, where the claim qualifies.

If you're a consumer outside the US, you keep any rights the law of your country gives you that can't be waived.

8. The rest

Changes. We may update these terms. The version posted here, with its effective date, applies to orders placed after that date. Your order is covered by the terms in place when you placed it.

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.

These terms, plus the pages they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about using the site and buying from us.
