Heavy Duty Hero Soft Shackles

Match it to your rope. Our Heavy Duty kits run the 5/8 inch (98,000 lb) with the 1.5 inch rope and the 7/8 inch (185,000 lb) with the 2 and 2.5 inch ropes. The 1/2 inch (58,000 lb) is the biggest regular Hitch Hero, for the 1 and 1.25 inch ropes.

The plain Heavy Duty soft shackle is for smooth, rated recovery points. The Hero adds a guarded sleeve, so it goes around a drawbar, a frame rail or a bucket edge without the metal chewing through it. Keep the sleeve on the metal edge. If you're hooking to farm or job-site equipment, this is the one to carry.

Anything solid that can take the load: a tractor drawbar, a semi's front hitch, an equipment frame, a skid steer or excavator tie-down. It wraps where a steel shackle or a hook won't fit. Only pull on points rated for the load, and put the sleeve where the metal edge is.

Every Kinetic-X rope and shackle is pull-tested to failure by an independent lab in California before we publish a rating. Every piece carries its production date on the tag, so you always know how old it is.

Every piece carries a lifetime warranty under proper use, within its published service life, which starts the day it's shipped. Ropes and shackles are good for 10 years stored properly, shaded and out of the weather, or 5 years if they live exposed in a truck bed, on a bumper or on a roof rack. Hero shackles don't retire on a schedule, and heavy fuzz on the outside is normal. Check the strands under the sleeve: if you see a tear, retire it. If you don't, it stays in service. The rules are on the Warranty and Service Life page.
